Family of 12 Displaced by House Fire

A family of 12 is without a home today following a fire Sunday evening left their single-family home unlivable.  The American Red Cross is assisting three adults and nine children with emergency food, shelter and clothing.

The fire was reported around 8 PM in the area of N 48th and W Hadley Streets.  According to the Milwaukee Fire Department, when they arrived on scene there was an active fire on the second floor of the house with fire in the walls of the structure.  The one person at home at the time was able to evacuate safely.
