Drunk Woman Steals Squad Car

MAUSTON, Wis. (CHANNEL 3000) -

A drunken Baraboo woman stole a squad car and fled on Interstate 90-94, according to a release from the Juneau County Sheriff’s Office.

The deputy said that he and a Wisconsin State Trooper were at the BP gas station in Lyndon Station at 4:23 a.m. Saturday dealing with a drunken man and woman when the woman left the store. The deputy noticed his squad car was gone, and a witness said the woman got into the squad car and fled east on Interstate 90-94.

The deputy and trooper pursued the squad car in the trooper’s vehicle. The squad car pulled over when the trooper activated his emergency lights.

Sara Windom, 29, was arrested on suspicion of third-offense operating while intoxicated, operating after revocation, operating without ignition interlock and operating a vehicle without the owner’s consent.
