MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Easter is still a few weeks away, but Milwaukee families are still getting into the holiday spirit.
Humboldt Park's annual Easter Egg Hunt returned for the 25th year.
More than 5,000 candy filled eggs blanketed the park for kids to find. The park was divided into sections by age group, and each area had a golden egg with a special prize inside.
Organizers say this year's egg hunt had a great turnout.
"That's why we're all here and that's why everyone volunteers, to see the joy the kids have running to eggs. We're all about strengthening this community and trying to protect the park," said Susan Catral, president, Humboldt Park Friends.
The event was free to attend, but organizers asked people to bring non-perishable food items that were then donated to the Bay View Community Center's Food Pantry.
Families lucked out this year. Today was the first egg hunt in four years without snow on the ground.
