DOC improves Sex Offender Registry

0in\">The Wisconsin Department of Corrections launched changes to the Sex Offender Registry website on April 28, 2014, which enhances the public’s ability to locate registered sex offenders.

0in\">Since 2001, the public has had the ability to search the Sex Offender Registry website by name or zip code. The new website includes a geographic search capability for sex offender registrants that live within a 1, 2 or 3 mile radius of a specific address.

0in\">Additionally, the new website provides a community notification system, so a user can be notified by e-mail when a sex offender registrant provides a home address that is near an address of interest to the user. There is also an expanded mapping functionality and an updated look.
