MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- There was a big party for graduating seniors at Milwaukee Public Schools on Thursday.
The district held its annual 'Senior Send-Off' with food, music, and prizes.
The event celebrates the end of high school and the start of the next chapter in their lives.
Students could also learn about the services available to them from MPS college and career centers.
"We know all kids won't go to college, we want to help them prepare if they want to go to the military, go to work, internship or apprenticeship. We have tons of opportunities available for these kids," said Lloyd Wilson, College & Career Center, Riverside University High School.
MPS says about half of its graduates move on to post-secondary education.
The other half enters the military, takes apprenticeships, or enters the workforce.
