Could The Milwaukee Public Museum Be Looking for A New Home?

What do the Milwaukee Bucks and The Public Museum have in common? They could eventually end up being neighbors as museum leaders consider relocating to the same part of town where the Bucks hope to build a new arena.

CBS58 had the chance to speak with the museum CEO Dennis Kois on Monday, and he really wasn't ready to commit to any questions asked about the museum's future. But he did say a major feasibility study is underway and will be ready in the spring of 2016.

It's estimated a half million people pass through the museum doors each and every year, making it one of the most visited places of its kind in the entire nation.  So getting public input is vital in determining its direction.

Also, the county will have a big say in what happens since it owns the building and the four and half million artifacts contained here.

Whether the museum moves or not, it's also looking for a new place to store its entire collection since the existing facility doesn't meet contemporary storage standards.  This is resulting in the deterioration of some items, according to the museum.
