Close to a thousand Milwaukee area kids will kick off their heels and tap to their hearts' content. They're taking part in the annual "Danceworks Mad Hot Tap Competition" this afternoon at the BMO Harris Bradley Center in Downtown Milwaukee.
If you go to this event, you'll see some new dance steps the kids have learned over the course of the Mad Hot program, including swing and Latin moves. When I heard about this all of this, I knew I had to showcase it on the CBS58 Morning News. And learn some steps myself.
Students from 34 different schools across the area participate in the program, run by the company "Danceworks." There will also be a ballroom competition in May. But the one today runs from 2:30 until 6 this evening at the Bradley Center. It's free and open to the public as well.
