MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – It’s a new era for the Milwaukee Police Department. In a summer that’s seen significant protests calling for police reform and the challenges of dealing with a global pandemic, the department now also welcomes new leadership with the ouster of police chief Alfonso Morales.
Before the decision to change the city’s top cop became official, two longtime MPD leaders announced their retirements from the force after decades on the job.
In 2018, Captain Heather Wurth and Lieutenant Kristin Felsman spoke with Amanda Porterfield about their experiences as female officers in a male dominated profession. Now, on the occasion of their retirement from law enforcement, Lt. Felsman and Capt. Wurth are reflecting on their careers and sharing thoughts on the future of law enforcement in Milwaukee.
