They've lived along the Fox River for 5 years. They just had a great July 4th family gathering at their home in Burlington.
Now the Cassidy family says it looks like they lost everything.
Richard Cassiday say Wednesday's floods washed away everything of theirs in a matter of hours.
They say the one sump they have wasn't enough to save the house.
Cassidy, who's on disability, says he couldn't afford flood insurance.
"We've done nothing but built this house to make it a home for our family to enjoy," Richard said near tears. "We lost everything."
They hope to get some financial assistance since this area has been declared an emergency.
They hope to rebuild.
And they tell CBS 58's Michael Schlesinger that they want to return by the water.
