MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- It's a big day for the Big Gig. 

We are less than a month away from this year's Summerfest but we're getting things started a little early. 

Today, May 21, organizers with the Big Gig gave us our first look at new food, drinks and more. 

They hosted a preview for a look at what we can expect this year. 

Organizers say they can't wait to open the gates into Henry Maier Festival Park. 

"Today marks the official kick off to the 57th Summerfest, " said Sarah Pancheri, CEO of Milwaukee World Festivals. "We are so proud that we have been a part of the fabric of this community for six decades and we are really proud to be an independent music festival and one of the most accessible festivals in the world." 

The festival is bringing back its three-weekend schedule again. 

Things kick-off Thursday, June 19, with the Big Gig ending three weeks later, Saturday, July 5.
