(ST. FRANCIS) - With another school year in the rear view mirror, students and teachers are looking forward to summer vacation. Some may already have the start of next semester circled on their calendar, but not a longtime lunch lady in St. Francis who's hanging up her apron after more than a half-century of dedicated service.
Elaine Briselden recently completed her final lunch service of a staggering 53-year long career. She began working for the district in the early 1960’s after her husband took a job as a math teacher. On the occasion of her last day before retirement the faculty and students took time to send her off in style.
On CBS 58 Sunday Morning Brendan Cullerton shared her story.
