MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A big check will go a long way to helping people facing food insecurity in the Milwaukee area.
The Anthem Foundation donated $100,000 Tuesday, Oct. 5 to the Hunger Task Force's MyPlate program, an easy to follow guide that teaches everyone how to create a balanced and healthy meal that includes all five food groups.Â
"We're trying to help the overall community health improve, as well as our members, and the great work they do here at the Hunger Task Force in addressing food insecurity is critical to that end," said Anthem Foundation President Ted Osthelder.Â
And it wasn't just a monetary donation.Â
Anthem volunteers also put together food boxes at the new volunteer welcome center in West Milwaukee.Â
