BROOKFIELD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A Brookfield girl battling a life-threatening illness had a very special gift Monday, April 12.
Lucy Spada now has a new treehouse. Ten-year-old Lucy is battling a type of bone cancer and Make A Wish Wisconsin worked with GRG Playscapes to create her treehouse with an "American Warrior" theme.
The treehouse was covered by a tarp during construction and Monday, Lucy got to see it for the first time.
"I was like oh my gosh, is this for real, I can't really believe it, but I know its there, it's just awesome," Lucy said.
"With travel at a halt with COVID, she really put her mind to it and Lucy decided she wanted a treehouse we are so blessed to have GRG offer up their services to create this masterpiece which is greater than anything we could've thought of," said Maggie Spada, Lucy's mom.
Lucy's parents say they took a trip out of town to allow the treehouse to be built without Lucy seeing it.
