MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Nurses and nurse practitioners have stood on the frontlines of health care throughout the pandemic-- treating patients battling COVID-19 while struggling with exhaustion and burnout themselves.
National Nurses Week honors the sacrifices and contributions nurses make and the expertise of this highly specialized profession.
This Nurses Week takes on special significance as the ranks of nurse practitioners (NPs) grew by 9% in 2022.
April Kapu is the president of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Kapu joined CBS 58 on Wednesday, May 11 to talk about the importance of recognizing the nursing profession.
