CBS 58 teams up with the Hunger Task Force for the Thanksgiving Drive-Thru Food Drive

CBS 58 is teaming up with the Hunger Task Force and Brewers Community Foundation for another year to help feed Milwaukee this holiday season.

The Thanksgiving Drive-Thru Food Drive kicked off at 4:30 this morning at Miller Park. Food and cash donations can be dropped off at Helfaer Field until 6 p.m. Organizers are making it easy for those who want to make a donation. All you have to do is pull into the drive-thru and volunteers will take the donation.

Today is all about helping local families in need, but you won't leave empty handed after making a donation. Each vehicle that stops to donate food items will receive a Brewers bobblehead, a gift bag and other items, while supplies last. A number of Brewers special guests will also stop by to help collect donations.

Non-perishable items to donate include canned fruit, canned vegetables, canned meats, peanut butter, oatmeal and pancake mix, cereal, canned soups and stews, juice, rice, pasta, beans and infant formula. You don't have to go to the store and make a special trip--just take a look in your pantry or cabinets today for a few items that you can spare for those in need.

Need more reasons to give?  The Hunger Task Force has been feeding Milwaukee since 1974 and is the only local food bank that provides and delivers food to local organizations-- like homeless shelters, soup kitchens, and a network of food pantries for free.

The CBS 58 family will be at Miller Park all day with Hunger Task Force volunteers -- along with other surprise guests-- to collect donations.  Stop by to make a donation and help put the \"thanks\" in Thanksgiving.
