Officials: 2 dead after crash with speeding driver who ran red light near 27th and St. Paul

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that the 65-year-old woman involved in Tuesday's crash died at a local hospital on Thursday afternoon, April 25. She was the driver of a car that was reportedly hit by a speeding driver who ran a red light near 27th and Paul.

The driver of the suspect car is in custody after having been revived at the scene and transported to the hospital.

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office is investigating a deadly three-car crash that left one person dead and one person seriously hurt near 27th and St. Paul on Tuesday, April 23. 

A deputy reportedly tried to pull over a car on the 27th St. viaduct at around 10 p.m., but officials say the driver sped away from the stop before running a red light and crashing into two other cars near 27th and St. Paul. 

Authorities tell CBS 58 a 69-year-old passenger in one of the cars that was hit, died from injuries at the scene, and a 65-year-old woman who was driving that car was seriously hurt and taken to a local hospital. 

The driver of the second car was not hurt in the crash.

The driver of the fleeing car that reportedly caused the three-car accident is in custody after he had to be revived at the scene and taken to the hospital. 

The suspect has two open felony criminal cases and was said to be in possession of drugs and a firearm at the time of the crash.
