UW-Stout Student Passes Away After Assault

A UW-Stout student who was assaulted on Sunday morning has passed away. The assault occurred in downtown Menomonie.

24-year-old Hussain Saeed Alnahdi suffered several injuries.

Alnahdi was a junior majoring in business administration. He was from Saudi Arabia.

According to the Menomonie Police Department media release, the victim was treated at Luther Mayo Hospital in Eau Claire, WI.  His condition worsened late afternoon on October 31st. The Dunn County Medical Examiner’s Office will bring Alnahdi to the University of Wisconsin-Madison Department of Pathology and Laboratory medicine for an autopsy.

The Menomonie Police Department is treating this incident as a homicide. They are working in partnership with the Dunn County Medical Examiner’s Office and the University of Wisconsin-Stout Police Department.

According to MPD, there is no ongoing threat to the community. No further information has been received about the crime.
