Packers cut Green Bay Native

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WSAW)-- Green Bay native Peter Mortell, who grew up a few miles from Lambeau, was one of the roster cuts announced by the Packers on Monday.

Mortell's grandfather was the Packers' clock operator back in the Lombardi years and his dad took the job from him.

The Green Bay Packers have released DT Demetris Anderson, CB Randall Jette, WR Jamel Johnson, LB Derrick Mathews, P Peter Mortell and WR Ed Williams. The transactions were announced Monday by Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations Ted Thompson.
