Cheeto, beloved member of the Racine K-9 unit, dies

The Racine Police Department is mourning the loss of a beloved member of their K-9 unit, Cheeto. The dog passed away Tuesday morning at the home of his uniformed officer partner. Cheeto had recently had a physical and nothing significant was discovered. His death is presumed to be from natural causes.
Cheeto had served the Racine community since 2006 and was scheduled to retire in November of 2015. Cheeto was trained at “Alabama Canine” before hitting the streets of Racine, working in the department's Street Crimes Unit.
