Unhealthy air for a few days followed by more rain chances

Another batch of light rain is pivoting into southeast Wisconsin on the backside of the same low pressure system that brought .30-.75" of rain to most of the area this weekend. Showers will taper off between 5-8pm this evening as the low pressure system finally pushes east.

We'll have a break from the rain on Tuesday and most of Wednesday, but scattered showers or storms may return as early as Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Multiple waves of low pressure will track through Wisconsin Thursday through Saturday, bringing additional chances for scattered storms.

In the mean time, we'll be dealing with fairly unhealthy air quality for several days. You can already smell the smoke in southeast Wisconsin, and our air quality will get worse this afternoon as more wildfire smoke reaches the ground level.

It's already reaching the ground level in northern and central Wisconsin as of 1pm where the air quality is unhealthy for everyone.

Air quality will be particularly bad between noon Tuesday and noon Wednesday. You'll want to limit your time outside and run the A/C or air purifier to keep air inside your home clean. An Air Quality Alert is in effect for the entire state through noon Thursday.
