Shoppers line up outside Lakefront Brewery to snag special Black Friday beers

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Black Friday shopping is well underway in Milwaukee. 

People lined up at Lakefront Brewery to snag some deals Friday morning, with doors opening at 8 a.m.

It's become a yearly tradition for many people.

"Been here like 13 years with my son-in-law," said Dave Armstrong. "It's been a family tradition. We eat Thanksgiving dinner and come to Lakefront for the Russian Imperial Stout. They have a couple variants and we're excited about those as well."

"I've been coming since 2017. It's been an amazing experience overall," said Tom Hughlett. "Sitting in line, drinking beer with people, it's amazing."

The brewery is offering four special Black Friday beers, but there are limited amounts of each.

They include:

• 2023 Black Friday Russian Imperial Stout aged in bourbon and brandy barrels
• Black Friday Triple Black India Pale Ale
• Black Friday Five Year Russian Imperial Stout
• Black Friday Double Barrel Christmas Cookie Barleywine aged in rum and bourbon barrels

The brewery says this year, things will look a bit different with the reopening of their beer hall and brand-new patio beer hut. Guests can line up for the sale and stick around for a drink, with Black Friday taps inside and outside. 

Lakefront is also continuing their Warm Hearts Community Coat Drive for students of Dr. George Washington Carver Academy. If you donate a new or gently used coat (any size), you'll get a 2022 Black Friday bottle, with a maximum of two bottles per person.
