Officials: 20-year-old Milwaukee man arrested, accused of causing fatal crash near 16th and Washington

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A 40-year-old man is dead following a crash that happened near 16th and Washington Streets on Saturday, Jan. 8.
Police said it happened just after 6 a.m.
According to police, a vehicle was traveling southbound at a high rate of speed in the oncoming traffic lane when it collided with another vehicle that was making a left turn.
The impact of the crash caused the vehicles to strike a light pole.
The driver of the vehicle that was struck sustained fatal injuries.
The driver of the vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed, a 20-year-old Milwaukee man, was arrested.
Criminal charges will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office.
