New Berlin Police: Man cited for OWI thanks officer for pulling him over

NEW BERLIN, Wis. (CBS 58) – A man cited for drunk driving thanked the officer who pulled him over, saying he’d driven drunk six times in the past but was never caught.

New Berlin Police say a 23-year-old Milwaukee man was cited for OWI and possession of drug paraphernalia after he was stopped on West Greenfield Avenue at South 124th Street around 10:30 p.m. on November 2. The man allegedly thanked the officer who pulled him over, saying he’d driven drunk at least six times before and this was the first time he’d been caught.

Investigators say he had a blood alcohol content of 0.14.
