Multiple chances for strong to severe storms this weekend
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee NAACP is speaking out about a preliminary report put out by the Justice Department on the Milwaukee Police Department.
The report found Milwaukee Police Officers were three times more likely to stop an African American than a white person. It also outlined potentially risky behavior officers were put in during patrols and issues handling citizen complaints.
State Representative David Bowen was also on hand and said the report confirms many of the concerns African Americans have had for years, "We are here because there is a report that has answers in it. And this report has been ignored. This report can prevent situations like this from happening by implementing best practices."
There's no word yet on when the full report will be released.
