Milwaukee man pleads guilty in homicide of 12-year-old girl shot while bringing in groceries

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Milwaukee man pleaded guilty Wednesday, March 22, in the homicide of a 12-year-old girl. 

Benjamin Garrett, 18, is accused of fatally shooting Olivia Schultz and injuring her mother, Celeste Wilson, while the two were carrying groceries in from the car in October of 2022.

He's charged with first-degree reckless homicide as a party to a crime and first-degree recklessly endangering safety as a party to a crime. 

Sixteen-year-old Cornell Henard is also charged in the shooting. He's due in court Thursday, March 23.

Garrett's sentencing hearing is set for June 1.
