OAK CREEK, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Police say an Oak Creek teacher admitted to having a relationship with a 15-year-old student. They were caught by a custodian who walked in on the two at school.

"We are sick at heart because we committed our lives and careers to helping children and to learn that a child has been harmed in such a reprehensible way is unthinkable and intolerable," said Oak Creek Superintendent Tim Culver.

Michael Jossie hs charged with two counts of sexual assault with a child under 16.

The Police Chief says the relationship between Jossie and the girl had been going on for more than a year.

The two started texting last summer before they began to have sex at the school and in a hotel in Waukesha County.

The superintendent says they plan to terminate Jossie. Shocked, disgusted, and hurt are just a few ways that a mom and student used to describe the situation. They say that Jossie had them fooled.

"I thought he was a pretty good guy. He taught me how to do Algebra and these equations that I couldn't figure out," said Gavin Colores, a student of Michael Jossie.

But now that teacher is charged after police say he admitted to having sex with a student multiple times, inside the very classroom where he helped Gavin with those equations.

"I'm pretty shocked right now actually because it's hard to believe your teacher, your special education teacher, would do something like this," said Gavin.

Gavin's mom, Randi, met Jossie at an open house at the beginning of the school year and said he was likable and approachable. Now, she feels betrayed.

"You think of sending your children to school to be educated and to be safe. And then you find out that one of the people you trust the most, aside from yourself, is not a safe person to be around," Randi said.

She says her son looked up to Jossie and now she has to explain what's going on.

"My son is 14 and he does have disabilities so to have that conversation with him, it was hard to find the right words to explain what he has done without putting it all out there."

Now, Gavin is not only without his teacher just a month into high school, he's also learning a difficult life lesson.

"When people are good on the outside, it doesn't mean they're good on the inside," Gavin said.

Af conferences last night, Randi says she talked to Gavin's teachers about who will work with her son.

As for Jossie, in addition to the charges filed in Milwaukee County, police say he had sex with the student in Waukesha County so charges there are likely coming.
