Glendale Police chase two cars over Labor Day holiday weekend

GLENDALE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Glendale Police Officers pursued two separate cars over the Labor Day weekend.

On Saturday, September 2 at approximately 9:43 p.m., a Glendale Officer initiated a traffic stop on a car for a red light violation and speeding.  The car immediately accelerated and fled.

The Officer reached speeds of 95 mph but was unable to close the distance. The Officer made the decision to end the pursuit since it was getting dangerous. The car was located shortly after crashed against a tree with three people inside. They people were out of the vehicle and taken into custody. Two of them complained of injuries.

The driver was arrested for OWI.

In a separate incident on Labor Day, September 4, at 9:15 p.m., a Glendale Officer stopped a car for a traffic violation. The car complied, pulled over and stopped. The Officer made contact with the driver, but then when they approached again the driver took off.

Officers pursued the car south on I-43 exiting at Atkinson Avenue where the fleeing car hit a Milwaukee County Bus, causing a minor traffic accident. No one was injured as a result of the crash.

The driver fled on foot into a nearby yard and was taken into custody.
