More than 700 Tips Received in Search for Joseph Jakubowski

Tips continue to come into the Rock County Sheriff’s Office regarding the location of fugitive Joseph Jakubowski.  As of late Wednesday, the Sheriff’s Office has received about 700 tips and investigators are pursuing about 130 of the tips.

The Wisconsin Lottery, a valuable partner of the Wisconsin Department of Justice in the dissemination of missing persons alerts, has published an alert to all of the lottery terminals in the state. The terminals can be found in gas stations, convenience stores, grocery stores, and other Lottery retailers. The published alert message is available for the store clerks and other employees to see. The alert message provided a photo of Jakubowski and instructions to notify law enforcement by calling 911. This technology is used with AMBER and Silver Alerts in Wisconsin.

The Sheriff’s Office has also revised its description of Jakubowski. In a previous release, the Sheriff’s Office said Jakubowski has a tattoo on his upper right arm that says “BOY.”  The Sheriff’s Office has learned that Jakubowski has received a newer tattoo over the same area and says the “BOY” tattoo description is no longer applicable. No description of the new tattoo has been provided.

Jakubowski is considered “armed and dangerous”. Direct sightings of Jakubowski should be called into “911” immediately. General tips and historical information can be reported to the FBI Tip Line: 1-800-CALLFBI (225-5324) or the Rock County Sheriff’s Office Tip Line: 608-757-7911.

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $20,000 for information that leads to the successful apprehension of Jakubowski.
