Marcus Theatres Selling Value Oak Creek Cinema to The Ridge Community Church

Marcus Theatres announced on Wednesday that it has reached an agreement to sell the Value Oak Creek Cinema to The Ridge Community Church. The theatre will continue to operate until after the sale is complete, which is expected to be in 2017.

This fall, The Ridge presented a purchase offer for the building and land at Value Oak Creek Cinema. After a thoughtful review process, Marcus Theatres decided to sell the property.

The Ridge intends to remodel the building to be used as a second location for services for its attendees. Lead Pastor Mark Weigt said, “We are excited for the opportunity to serve the people of Oak Creek and surrounding communities. We currently have several hundred attendees from this area of Metro Milwaukee and we look forward to serving even more of our new neighbors at both our services and through volunteer work and community outreach.” The Ridge plans to open its Oak Creek campus in the fall of 2017.

Although Marcus does not plan on opening another value cinema, customers can still take advantage of the $5 Tuesday movie program where all movies are just $5. Plus, anyone age 60 or older can enjoy the Young at Heart special on Fridays, when admission is $5 for showtimes before 5:30 PM. Southgate Cinema in Milwaukee also offers the Student Thursdays program, where students of all ages and faculty can see movies for $5.

All of the 21 Value Oak Creek Cinema employees will be offered jobs at other Marcus Theatres locations.
