Alverno College Students Donate Turkeys to Hunger Task Force

Before the Thanksgiving Break, Alverno College students loaded 280 turkeys into a Hunger Task Force truck.

The food drive was organized by the Alverno athletics department as part of a competition among schools in their conference.

They asked Alverno students to make donations from their personal meal plans to help feed those in need.  Faculty and staff also contributed.

"Everyone's really giving here and that helps with our amazing success and even though we're one of the smallest schools in the conference its really great that we can win every year and be on top even though we're such a small school,” said Samantha Korn, an Alverno sophomore .

This is the seventh year for the Alverno food drive and the most food donated yet.

The 280 turkeys will help feed some 2,000 people this Thanksgiving.
