Hunger Task Force Kicks off “Food for Families” Holiday Food Drive

The Hunger Task Force, Milwaukee’s free and local food bank, is kicking off its "food for families" holiday food drive.

They are looking for non-perishable items such as: canned fruits and vegetables, juice, cereal, oatmeal, pancake mix, peanut butter, canned meats, canned beans, stews, infant formula, baby food, pasta, and canned soups.

The meals will go toward helping thousands of families put food on the table.

"All the food gets sorted by volunteers and gets sent out to those local groups, free of charge. They're going to get breakfast, lunch and supper foods. They're going to get food based on diet, religion, culture, household size and even personal preference."

The food drive continues through the end of the year.

You can drop off meals at food barrels around the city or at the task force headquarters located at: 201 S. Hawley Court Milwaukee, WI 53214.
