Citizen Walking Dog Finds Body Floating in Milwaukee River

A citizen walking a dog found the body floating in the Milwaukee River Friday morning, according to Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office. 

The body was spotted near Milwaukee River north of the Hampton Bridge (1300 W. Hampton Avenue). 

Deputies responded and closed the parkway while the Milwaukee Fire Department's dive team removed the partially decomposed body from the water.

The Medical Examiner’s office responded to the scene, and will be conducting an autopsy to determine the race of the subject and how long the subject was deceased.

Sheriff’s detectives are conducting the death investigation.
