3-Year-Old Girl Hit and Killed by Car Near 84th and Marion

A 3-year-old girl was killed Saturday afternoon near the intersection of 84th and Marion, after trying to cross the street to visit her grandfather.

According to Milwaukee Police, they were called to the scene about 2:00 PM. Police say the child saw a relative across the street and ran toward them. She ran between two parked cars and was hit by a passing car. 

Jada Handy just turned three on July 20, her father tells CBS 58.

Despite ongoing advance life support efforts from the Milwaukee Fire Department and a local hospital, the child died from her injuries. The driver remained on the scene and is cooperated with the investigation.

Handy and her family were planning to celebrate her birthday this weekend.
