Veteran to Receive New Home in Waukesha

A local military family will soon have a customized home without a mortgage thanks to a non-profit called Operation Finally Home Wisconsin. 

A ceremony unveiling plans for the group's latest project was held Monday morning in Waukesha. 

By next summer there will be a home here in a family will be getting ready to move into a brand-new home customized just for them.

This will be the third home provided by operation finally home in the state of Wisconsin.

They have built 105 across the United States.

Organization members and local leaders like Waukesha Mayor Shawn Reilly and County Executive Paul Farrow were in attendance for the announcement of construction on this new home.

The family who will be moving in has not yet been selected but that process should be happening by the end of the summer.

After finding out what needs they have groundbreaking will then follow.

Waukesha based Belman Homes, will be the primary builder for this project. They are excited about having this project in their own backyard.

“They go over and they sacrificed so much for us, and when coming home it's very difficult and this is just one way we can ease the transition, said Kristine Hillmer, executive director, Metropolitan Builders Association.
