Naked Man Leads Waukesha Police on Chase Ending in Fox River

Waukesha Police and Fire Department had to convince a naked man to get out of the Fox River after he led them on a chase in a car.

According to a release by Waukesha Police, a naked man was scene reportedly trying to break into a residence in the 200 block of North Charles Street on Wednesday around 11:51 PM.

An officer arrived and ordered the suspect to stop, but he ignored the officer’s commands and got into a silver Volvo station wagon and fled northbound on North Charles Street. 

The City of Waukesha Communications Center was able to view the vehicle live via Opticop surveillance camera system and observe the suspect vehicle as it traveled through the downtown area, which allowed officers to safely follow the vehicle. 

Officers located the vehicle however the suspect refused to stop. 

The vehicle came to rest at the corner of Barstow St and St. Paul after losing its front tires. 

Officers pursued the suspect on foot and he jumped into the Fox River. 

The City of Waukesha Fire Department responded to the scene with a rescue boat.

Officers were able to convince the suspect to exit the river.  He exited the river and was uncooperative.  He allegedly lunged at officers, forcing them to utilize less lethal munitions, including a Taser in order to impede his assault and safely stabilize him.

The suspect was transported to Waukesha Memorial Hospital and is receiving treatment for his admitted use of cocaine. 

Waukesha Police confirmed that he is currently on supervision by probation and parole.  Charges of Operating Under the Influence, Eluding, Resisting, Prowling, Lewd and Lascivious behavior and other traffic citations will be referred to the District Attorney’s office and City Attorney’s Office.
