CBS 58 Big Road Trip Tours Nelson Family Locker Room

Although the first stop on the CBS 58 Big Road Trip was for a different Packer (more on that to come later), most of Thursday was spent learning about Jordy Nelson’s past. The first stop on the "Jordy Nelson Kansas tour" was Kansas State where Jordy walked on to the Kansas State just football team.

Kansas State just opened a brand new 250,000 square foot athletics building. Part of that facility includes the Nelson Family Locker Room. The locker room is huge, extravagant, opulent, and gorgeous; truly it is hard to imagine how any young recruit could walk away from K State after seeing the space.

The locker room sports its own personal barbershop, a recovery pool that rivals the nicest of spas (at 45 degrees of course). There are plenty of TVs and amenities everywhere with plenty of space for athletes to feel at home and comfortable.

The locker room was all made possible thanks in part to the success of Jordy Nelson at Kansas State and his donations, “he is the same Jordy Nelson that he was in 2007.The epitome of what a K Stater is: hard working, would prefer to lay low than have the publicity, and just a really good, down to earth guy,” said Kenny Lannou Associate Athletic Director of Communications for K State.

For us in Wisconsin it is easy to think of Jordy as a Wisconsinite, but he is actually a product of Riley County, Kansas and that is where the CBS 58 Big Road Trip went next.
