Rumors on Social Media of a Threat Cause Cudahy School District to Send Email to Parents

Parents in the Cudahy School District received an email on Wednesday regarding a rumor of violence at the high school.

The rumor was spread on social media that there will be a shooting at the high school after two incidents happened at the school.

“I want to stress to families that we take all such matters seriously. We have conducted exhaustive investigation into this matter and have conferred with the Cudahy Police Department. No credible evidence or information has been discovered,” said James Heiden, Cudahy School District’s Superintendent.

The two incidents were a comment that student made to a peer and an innocuous message written on a desk, according to the district.

The district said there is no evidence that either of these events were related.
