Blaze Pink Could Become Approved Hunting Color

Another bill up for discussion in Madison would give hunting gear a makeover. Current Wisconsin law requires hunters to wear blaze-orange vests to let other hunters know they're around.

But now, two Wisconsin lawmakers want to make it acceptable to also wear hot pink while hunting, "the pink is more visible when everything is turning yellow and orange. The orange will get lost between those oranges that there are in the nature…therefore, it will be less safe," said UW textile expert, Majid Sarmadi.

Supporters of the bill say allowing pink will attract more women to the sport and may improve safety. Opponents say beyond making a fashion statement, there’s no point.
