Witness to Hit-And-Run Follows Driver who then Drives into Front yard

On January 2 at 12:36 PM Mount Pleasant Police were dispatched to an unknown injury accident at State Highway 20 and the I-94 East Frontage road. The first officer arrived within minutes and was told the offending vehicle had fled northbound on I-94 towards Milwaukee, not stopping to make contact with the three occupants of the victim vehicle.

A witness to the crash was following the offending vehicle northbound on I-94 when they suddenly exited I-94 at 7 Mile Road.

In the 13000 block of 7 Mile Road, the operator drove recklessly into a front yard of a residence at a high rate of speed, and exited into the parking lot at the BP gas station. The witness continued to follow the offending vehicle east on 7 Mile Road and then proceeded south on Highway V to Highway G and then back on I-94 this time going southbound.

A Racine County Sheriff Deputy and Mount Pleasant Squads caught up with the vehicle on southbound I-94 and Spring Street and conducted a high risk stop at the Highway 20 off ramp. The operator Israel M Oliver, 30-years-old, of Milwaukee was taken into custody without incident. 

Police say no one was injured in any of the incidents and alcohol was not a factor.

Oliver was transported to the Racine County jail and held on charges of hit-and-run and reckless driving.
