Weekend construction has drivers eager for Monday

MILWAUKEE -- Construction on I-94 is underway. The Wiscosnin Department of Transportation closed part of I-94 Friday night to begin the 54-hour project.

Wisconsin Department of Transportation is spending the day monitoring traffic flow at its operations center. Eastbound drivers are told to exit at Moorland and Westbound drivers are told to exit at 894 and 45.

The project includes a train tressle for union pacific railroad, demolishing the west span of highway 100's bridge that goes over the interstate and adding a sewer to carry away storm water.

Though closing the highway is supposed to cut down on construction time, drivers still don't like the inconvenience.

I-94 will reopen Monday morning at 5:30. Tune into CBS 58 News at 9 and 10 PM for details.
