Waukesha detective suspended following internal investigation

WAUKESHA -- A Waukesha detective was suspended for three days after an internal investigation. Detective Peter Korns suspension was for not properly storing evidence, but was investigated for everything from sleeping on the job to responding to his wife's burglary.

That house burglar was in 2012. Korns responded to the call to find his wife was in the house. Records show that Detective Korn's lock picking kit was in his wife's car but he was later cleared according to Waukesha Sheriff's Department. Detective Korns says he knew nothing about it and cell phone records don't show any calls to his wife before the burglary.

We called the Waukesha Sheriff for comment and to find out more about the investigation, we are still waiting for a returned call.
