Wainwright pitches Cardinals to series win vs. Brewers

Adam Wainwright threw a complete game, helping the Cardinals take three out of four games from the Brewers, and push Milwaukee all the way into third place in the NL Central.

The 9-1 loss allowed Pittsburgh to climb ahead of the Brewers not only in the division race, but also in the wild card standings.

Milwaukee managed just a single run, on an RBI single by Carlos Gomez in the 9th. The Brewers also committed three errors, and grounded into three double plays.

Up next, the Brewers host Miami for a four-game series.
