MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Folks who are planning to spend the weekend in Milwaukee can join locals in a treat this weekend, and that treat is a packed lineup of fun events.
Ian Thompson of VISIT Milwaukee joined us on Thursday, Feb. 1 to take a look at some key events that are on the calendar.
The Winterfest celebration at Washington Park is set for Sunday, Feb. 3 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., aiming to deliver free family-friendly activities including sledding, snowshoeing and hiking, along with warm bonfires and hot drinks.
Later that evening, State of Sound presented by 88Nine returns to Walker's Point Studios from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., with live performances by local artists, including Sleepy Gaucho, Dak Dubois, Scam Likely and Wave Chapelle, with tickets available for $15.
The Marcus Performing Arts Center begins its run of "The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical" on Sunday at 1 p.m., an adaptation of the popular novel, suitable for kids and adults.
Also on Sunday, the Walkers Point Makers Market & Bar Hop aims to allow people to explore 80 makers across multiple venues in the Walkers Point neighborhood from noon to 5 p.m., offering a selection of handmade decor, art, jewelry and more while enjoying a drink along the way.
