US-41 Southbound to Eastbound I-94 will have a Long-Term Closure

Two closures in the Zoo Interchange will be happening Friday.

One of the closures is temporary and one will last through the winter.

Starting Friday night at 10 PM, US- 41 Southbound at Watertown Plank Road is going to close temporarily.

They will install tub girders through the night and weather permitting hope to get it back open Saturday morning.

The ramp from South 41 to Eastbound I-94 will be shut down until late Spring of 2017.

The DOT said this is a very busy ramp and losing it is going to mean a longer commute for a lot of people

“We recommend people to anticipate up to a 30-minute longer drive time. People will start looking at different routes. We recommend trying out different routes this week before the closure to see what they are comfortable with,” said Mark Klipstein, representative from WisDOT.

Here is a look at some of the recommended alternate routes. The alternate routes include Brown Deer Road, Fond du Lac Avenue,.Bluemound Road, or Watertown Plank Road to Highway 100.
