Two MPD officers injured in chase and crash, 3 suspects in custody

A high speed chase and crash resulted in two Milwaukee Police Officers hurt and three young men taken into custody.

According to the MPD, around 10:30 PM Friday, officers were involved in a high speed pursuit of a vehicle taken in an armed robbery.   The pursuit ended when the vehicle crashed into a concrete light pole at W North Avenue and N 12th Street.   The pole fell on top of the squad car, injuring the officers inside. 

The three suspects in the car fled the scene on foot, but were quickly apprehended.   The suspects in custody are 22- 21- and 17-years old.

The two MPD officers were treated at a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
