WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) – The trial of Slender Man stabbing suspect Anissa Weier continues in Waukesha after jurors heard opening statements and first witnesses.

The 15-year-old defendant has pleaded guilty to stabbing a former classmate more than three years ago, but the jury must decide on her mental state at the time.

After the opening statements, the first witness called by the defense was Weier’s father who said “no” when he was asked if he ever though his daughter might need help for mental health issues. He did talk about an incident when she was a 10-year-old and she told him she saw someone looking at her from a closet.
