Suspects at large after man shot, killed in Fitchburg, police say

FITCHBURG, Wis. (WISC) -- No one is in custody after a Fitchburg man was shot and killed Monday night, according to a news release from the Fitchburg Police Department.

Fitchburg police were called to the scene of the shooting around 5:45 p.m at 5154 Anton Drive. A 20-year-old man was transported to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Officials said a preliminary investigation suggests that there was a disturbance at the residence involving multiple men. During the disturbance, at least one shot was fired.

The other men fled on foot and have not been located, according to the release.

Officials do not believe this was a random act of violence and are conducting a homicide investigation.
