We've reached a sunrise milestone today! Our sunrise this morning was at 7 AM on the dot! With sunsets after 5pm we're now over ten hours of daylight each day. And that mark, of course, will continue to grow in the weeks and months ahead.
We are gaining daylight at a pretty good clip now as you can see. Since the Winter Solstice we've gained an hour and twelve minutes of daylight. And we've got just over five hours left to gain until we reach our longest days of the year crossing over the Summer Solstice.Once Daylight Saving Time kicks in we "spring forward" an hour. That's coming up on March 12th, just thirty-three days away. When that happens we push sunrise back after 7am for a few days. That spans from March 12th to March 17th. Thereafter, sunrises will be prior to 7am until October 10th.
Plenty of daylight to enjoy tomorrow too before our next weather arrives Thursday.
I'm meteorologist Rebecca Schuld
