It was 50 years ago next month that the first Summerfest was held at 35 different locations throughout Milwaukee. The 51st edition of the world’s largest music festival kicks off Wednesday at the 75 acre lakefront park named after Henry Maier, the longtime mayor who came up with the idea to bring people together for music, food and fun.
On CBS 58 Sunday Morning, longtime Summerfest vice president of entertainment Bob Babisch shared his thoughts on preparing to once again host the “Big Gig”.
