Sturgeon relocated to Concordia University

MEQUON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Some sturgeon now have a new home at Concordia University.

Ten eight-inch sturgeon arrived from the DNR.  The fish will live in the University’s Center for Environmental Stewardship.

“There’s only a handful of places in the state that would have these on the display so because of the nature of the center and the educational focus we’ve been granted approval for that,” says Mark Schmitz, Director of the Center for Environmental Stewardship.

Wisconsin has one of the largest sturgeon populations in the country.
